Act 1

We opened, appropriately enough, with the cast singing ‘As Time Goes By’

Nick Webb tested the audience’s memory of old adverts

Sarah & Dave Horne gave us ‘Time’

Cavan Syrad and Martin Wellen told how the Battle of Trafalgar would have been approached in modern safety-conscious times

Nick Webb & Jo Smith brushed up their Shakespeare – almost getting it right!

Rufus Kendall at his ice cream parlour with an awkward customer in Neil Hardinge

Dil Williamson-Smith, Karina Farnlucher, Mel White and Sarah Horne were Headley’s answer to the Andrews Sisters, singing ‘Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree’

Clare and Chris gave us ‘Stardust’ in Act 1.
And in Act 2 gave us a couple more songs.

Chris Millard was the ‘Father of the Bride’ giving us his inebriated speech at the wedding.

Dil Williamson-Smith sang ‘Fever’, accompanied by Zak White on cajon and Jo Smith on bass.

Nick Webb is Neil Hardinge’s awkward customer in the ‘Four Candles’ sketch

Sarah Horne and Mel White sing ‘Old Fashioned Waltz’ by Sandy Denny, accompanied by Dave Horne on guitar.

Behind the screen, Parker takes off Lady Penelope’s clothes!!

Barbara Parry and David Burnham give us ‘Boots of Spanish Leather’

To end the first Act, we had the Spice Girls (aka Chris Millard, Cavan Syrad, Rufus Kendall, Neil Hardinge and Jo Smith) dancing along to ”Wannabee – and as if that wasn’t enough, they then went on to open the singing of ‘Thank You For the Music’ with the rest of the cast.

Act 2

The Guitar Club had been practising ‘On Top of the World’ for some weeks, and here was their chance to lead the cast in the opening number of Act 2.
They also did ‘Country Roads’ later.

Annaliese Farnlucher and Jessica show us the suffering of the young these days if the Internet goes down!

Cavan Syrad gave us his very own ‘Crap Wrap’ accompanied by Zak White on cajon.

Karina Farnlucher, Rufus Kendall and Martin Wellen discuss how to fool the Russians into thinking the Americans had landed on the moon.

Angela Berry, having regaled us with some one-liners in the first Act, now gave us Notes to an imaginary Am Dram cast rehearsing Hamlet.

Dave Horne accompanied Mel White singing ‘Torn’

Caroline Stephenson plays the wife about to become a Suffragette – Chris Millard is her suffering husband.

Mel White reads the start of ‘Lark Rise to Candleford’ to introduce David Burnham and Barbara Parry (on shuti box) singing ‘Arise and Pick a Posy’

And we ended the show with the whole cast giving a spirited rendition of ‘Is This the Way to Amarillo’

Well, not quite the end – after the curtains closed (in both Acts), Mel White (as Alice) and Karina Farnlucher (as Geraldine) repeated some of the well-loved jokes from ‘The Vicar of Dibley’

Jo Levy sitting at the joanna enjoyed the show …

… and so did Paul Heath on lights & sound.
